Simple Meditations in May – 4
Here is the fourth meditation for May. This time we are laying on the floor! But it is still easy and enjoyable.

Once I have managed to get my big stiff body onto the floor and eventually straighten myself as flat as its going go – I quite enjoy laying there. It is almost as if my body says “thank you, I needed that”.
I find that once I am down on the floor its best to make the most of it. So I might do one or two simple stretches and then, as a treat, follow a meditation. Here is one.

Conscious
I’m going to lie on my bedroom floor maybe using a mat or towel. I enjoy laying on a hard floor for a while and I will stretch a little.
Relaxing, I will become conscious of my body. I begin with my toes, then feet and working up my legs, torso, shoulders etc.
Traveling up my body slowly I will give each part a little wiggle or a squeeze or a gentle rub. I will also remember how each part contributes to my functioning. Those bits of me which are painful and those bits I won’t be getting out in public will get an extra squeeze or rub.
Afterward each part of my body is rubbed I will say “thank you” and bless that part of me, even the strange shaped bits and the bits I don’t like much.
